BMX 20 inch 48V / 52V 1500W rear hub motor – electric bike conversion kit | Leafmotor

Q: Can you give quote of just 20 inch 1500W BMX hub motor and wheel only? For BMX 20 inch rear with wheel to fit 2.4” tire.  Also, does this BMX motor have wires coming out before threads on axle? https://www.leafbike.com/products/diy-bike-conversion-kit/bmx-20-inch-48v-52v-1500w-rear-hub-motor-electric-bike-conversion-kit-1180.html   A: Please click below site. The price and the shipping cost is the same to below link. https://www.leafbike.com/products/e-bike-hub-motor/20-inch-48v-52v-1500w-rear-bike-motor-wheel-1016.html  If order, just leave message: BMX motor fit for 110mm dropout. Q: Is there a physical difference between the 750w, 1000w, and 1500w BMX hub motors themselves? Different number of turns, gauge wire, etc? A: 36v 750w & 48v 1000w are the same motor.  1500w is different from 1000w motor. Difference as below: 1. the width of 1000w is 35mm hub, 1500w is 40mm hub 2. magnet height of 1000w is 30mm, 1500w is 35mm magnet 3. the width of 1000w winding rotor is 30mm, 1500w is 35mm winding rotor The gauge wire is the same, but 1500w should use much more wires than 1000w. About number for turns, we can customize different turns for 1000w, 1500w. Q: Thank you for all the help in choosing what to order. Do the wires come out of the axle inside our outside of the dropouts? I have attached a picture of the wire coming from inside the dropouts. A: 1500W 135mm dropout motor can use 3mm phase wire - cable inside fork 1500W  110mm dropout BMX motor uses 2mm phase wire - cable out of shaft end, outside fork. Q: This video is where I am seeing the 110mm BMX setup from leaf bike. In his description, he states it’s a front hub motor “made to fit a sprocket”  and in his video he shows the wires coming from inside the “fork” Is this something you also do for my order? Or maybe the person is misunderstanding.

Ebike Breaking questions | Leafmotor

Q: I have three questions so far.  One is about the Regen breaking, another is about the break levers, and the last one is about coasting. For the Regen breaking does the controller prevent Regen breaking when the battery is fully charged so as to not burn out the controller or will I need to buy something else to prevent that from happening? I see that the break levers have cables running from them however it says that I should buy break cut off sensors.  If those cables are not for break cut off sensors what are they for?  Also I already have hydraulic breaks so do you have hydraulic break levers that have the wiring that I need or do I just need to buy the break cut off sensors and add them to my bike? I know that direct drive motors have drag however I would like to know at what speed, if any, it will "short" and forcibly slow me back down "some controllers do this". And and what speed it will slow me down if any if I use it with the battery detached. A: Regen breaking works while press braking leaver (from slower to stop, only a couple of seconds - impossible to be fully charged Our brake lever with cut off sensors. Your hydraulic breaks without cut off sensor. If you don't like our brake lever, hope use your hydraulic breakes, buy cut off sensors.. please click below site. https://www.leafbike.com/products/electric-bike-parts/hydraulic-mechanical-brake-cut-off-sensor-switch-cable-1213.html The direct drive motor has resistance, but it is not obvious. The power-off switch and mechanical brake must be used to stop the motor. If the speed of 50kmh is on the flat ground, disconnect the power supply, do not use the mechanical brake, and generally slide more than 150m (if two rider on bike, may just slide 20m)

soon to be customer for 20 inch BMX 1500W bike motor kit | Leafmotor

Q: Looking for a rear wheel 20 inch hub motor kit for BMX an need a 12t sprocket, also I have a 72v battery for ebike so wondering if I can get a bigger controller to use 72v battery also more amps mean more power is my understanding! A: max 16t sprocket,we have 16 t sprocket. 12T doesn't fit for 20 inch hub motor. Our BMX rear 20 inch bike motor kit can work at 72v, but we should customize low speed if work at 72v battery.. what max speed would you like, 20 inch wheel? Q: What's the max speed, wanting 45mph or 50mph  A: The fastest of our 20 inch bike motor kit works at 52v battery can reach 40mph If work at 72v, 45mph or 50mph, should make low speed motor. Q: What's the OLD size for the drop out? A: Standard is 135mm.. Not sure your bike, if possible, measure it very easy. Q: Would u have a 20 inch hub motor kit for a 110mm rear drop out with flywheel for BMX? A: yes,we have 20 inch 1500w BMX with single speed freewheel fit for 110mm rear fork https://www.leafbike.com/products/diy-bike-conversion-kit/bmx-20-inch-48v-52v-1500w-rear-hub-motor-electric-bike-conversion-kit-1180.html Q: What's the kv eating of the motor so I can maybe switch to a bigger controller A: The 20 inch BMX bike motor kit you bought that can work at 48v or 52v battery (min 40v ~ max 60v) Can't work over 63v, can't work with 60v battery, can't work with 72v battery..(Controller & LCD NOT support 60v, 72v battery) Q: Could I change the controller an display out for 72v controller an display by chance?? A: We have one 72v controller in stock. can drive this motor.. but without LCD. Also, if works at 72v, should re-customize a slower speed 20 inch bike motor.  Q: My battery is a 72v 20ah battery pack! A: 72v 20ah should use 72V controller. This 20 inch hub motor kit works at 48v battery, can reach about 40mph (no load speed) If this 20 inch hub motor kit works with 72v controller & 72v battery, it will reach 60mph.. it's too fast.. We need to customize a lower speed so that reach about 40mph.

Also, we can make the fastest winding rotor for this 1500w.. if @48v about 75kmh no load speed.. Q: Can I ask how much rpm, N.m?  and with 95 kg load the speed?  48 or 52 v  A: if full charged 52v battery, 95kg on flat road can reach about 50kmh Q: 50kmh 52v with bike motor modified?  A: it's default bike motor, not that fastest..  Q: I need faster and i want to know the faster goes.... Important for me.. Now I have 750w with 52v go to 48kmh. I need more speed. A: 75kmh Q: With load? 60kmh? Just last question... What torque have modified motor?  Now i have 48v battery then i upgrade 52v A: 48v battery, ride on the flat road, still can reach about 75kmh We made a sample, not test it on machine, very fast, very dangerous Q: I don’t want to go at 75kmh but if i want to escape from dangerous situations i can! Please can you tell me the torque of bike motor? If a have problem with Uphill roads? If a lose more power or not..  A: all of our 48v 1000w,1500w are easy to uphill.. more than 30Nm Q: I need your kit, 1500w bike motor modified. Kit for 20x4” inch can i choose to use 48 or 52 v  It’s important for me to have the modified bike motor motor, i need to have 55-60 kmh with load.

26 inch 2000w fat tire e bike kits | Leafmotor

Q: I have a few questions to ask you about 2 of your kits. I have a stretcher Fat bike, That right now weight's about 80lbs. One of the kits was 48/52 2000watt, and the other is the 60volt 2000watt 26 inch beach snow fat kit. I see that the 48/52 has a 24 mosfet controller, and the 60 volt has 18mosfits. My question is witch one would recommend for me? I did see I could upgrade to a 24 mosfet. I would I be able to exchange for that and pay the different? Last question, I have polish aluminum rims, is it possible to get that instead of  black? A: What's the dropouts of your fork, 170mm or 190mm? Q:I have 170 drop outs and a single speed gear. A: 170mm dropouts and a single speed how fast would you like,...30mph or 40mph or 50mph Q: My bike weighs about 80 pounds, I would like to be ably to go around mid 30's. A:30 mph speed ride on flat road Q: 30 35 miles an hour is fast enough I'm looking for long rides I have a 60 volt 35 amp hour battery for it.I just had a chance to put everything together. The hub motor does not run, I recheck the 3 phase wire and they are good. I check all of the wires connector they are good. I disconnected the brake cutout, to see if that was the problem, still nothing I tried the other throttle that was sent, with the kit, got nothing. here is a picture of the display. Also how do I turn the back light on the controller. A: We tested your 26 inch beach snow fat kit with all of other bike parts, they worked together. Everything was good. What's the voltage did you input? It only work at 60v battery.  (If too high voltage or wrong connecting for + & - power wires may have issue) Please take a photo while turning throttle check if "66'F" will be [ ], if can be changed, that means throttle is good. Also, can hold on "down" button, if motor can work as "walk speed" Q: OK my battery 60volt 35amh. I took the bike to a bike shop that works on e-bikes, and I paid to have it tested, the hub motor checks out good and the brake cut out is good the throttle check out good, hub motor windings are good the only thing that shows that it has a problem, is the controller.

20 inch 1000w rear casted hub motor electric bike kit | Leafmotor

Q: Hey there how are you? I m texting u from Australia and wanna ask few questions before placing an order for 20 inch hub motor electric bike kit. 1:How long delivery will take to arrive in Australia ? 2:Which company u will use for that? 3:Do u have this but 1500w 2kw or 3kw hub motor ? 4:how long warranty is? 5:do u sell special metal parts to use in a form to prevent of braking it as its hub motor has so much power? or special fork? https://www.leafbike.com/products/diy-bike-conversion-kit/20-inch-48v-52v-1000w-rear-casted-hub-motor-electric-bike-kit-1218.html A: 1. About 10 days to arrive in Australia 2. Our self company make hub motors. 3. This 20 inch casted max 1000w, no 1500w, 2kw...  because only one kind of casted hub part for 1000w hub motor.  4. ONE year 5.it's easy to brake..  (1. press brake lever, it will cut off motor power at once.. 2. also your disk brake or V -brake works that's easy to stop motor Q: I mean I don't wanna brake metal parts which holds motor hub and wheel can u have a look on picture. Do u sell any piece of metal to make supports for frame in part where frame connects which wheel?  I m so sorry for my English I hope u understand what I m asking about A: The dia. of this motor's shaft is 14mm (flat is 10mm) Don't need other metal part. It's fit for all standard bike. Q: Yeah can u have a look at new pics I wound some in internet, and that what I am asking u to how to prevent it . I just don't wanna brake fork front or rear one. If front brakes its K i can Change for other one  But if rear, I will need to buy new bike A: The frame quality of bicycle on picture is not good. Many customers use this Aluminum bracket for 1000w, 1500w hub motor that is no problem. If you have steel fork that's much better. Q: Just one lats question before I place an order. Does that motor hub require special battery? Or can I use batteries i have 2 48v Samsung ebike batteries ? A: Don't need special battery. 20 inch 48v / 52v 1500w hub motor electric bike kit works with 48v or 52v battery (min 40v to max 60v) ONE 48v Battery can drive it.

16 inch 24V 250W front hub motor – electric bike kit | Leafmotor

Q: I have an old 16 inch bike that I would like to add electric assist on the front wheel (The rear has a complex hub/cassette that I don't want to mess with). The hub specs seem like they would work with this kind of bike but I have some questions. Will the added weight of a front hub motor put strain on the headset? Will the hub work with the compact v-brakes that came with the bike or will I need to upgrade? Will it work with my 60 psi tires? Would I be able to power my hub dynamo lights with the battery? I am not looking for anything powerful--just something to help me up hills. Note the attached picture is before I upgraded to long swept back handlebars which should give me enough room for any controllers and throttles. A: This 16 inch hub motor kit 24v 250w front is fit for the spacing of 100mm fork.  * if possible, just measure the spacing of your fork, check if 100mm? -If 100mm, no any problem. Fit for your bike, also fit for your V brake, also your fork support this motor. This bike motor is not heavy. Works with your fork. This 16 inch rim is fit for 16 x 1.5" or 16 x 1.75 or 16 x 1.95" tire. But we recommend 36v 250w or 48v 250w or 48v 500w (24v 250w is not strong) Q:  I am just researching right now. If 250W is too weak, will the next wattage size help me up the hill? Would you recommend high or low pressure tires (I prefer low pressure)? Does the price include the battery? A: 48V 250W or 48V 500W is okay. If strongest, 48v 1500w low speed motor. Not include battery. Q: Would the 36v 250w bike motor be strong enough to boost me up hills and what battery pack would work with it? Can motor batteries be tapped to power lights originally powered from a hub dynamo? A: 36v 250w bike motor is stronger than 24v 250w But still no good for up hills, just work for flat road. Also, 48v 250w bike motor is just better to work for flat road, not good for up hill. If up hill, should 16 inch 48V 1000W, 1500W bike motor. Q: I would still be peddling the bike with motor assist rather than relying on the motor alone. I currently don't want too powerful a motor as my current rim brakes may not be strong enough. Also this would be the first time I rode any kind of electrified bike so I need an "entry level" set up. One other thing, how well does the motor hold up against heat, cold and getting wet as in encountering the occasional puddle? It can get really hot, cold and wet where I live.

26 inch 2000W HUB SNOW BIKE KIT – FOR 190MM DROPOUT | Leafmotor

Q: Could you tell me the spec of the most powerful hub motor you sell in the 26 inch fat bike kit that will fit a 190mm rear dropout please? I am looking to buy the hub motor pre-laced in a rim, can you also advise on what battery to go with it. A: 190mm dropout.. We can make 26 inch 48V 1000w or 26 inch 48V 1500w hub motor We recommend 48v or 52v 20ah battery. Q: Thanks for the reply. Can you quote me for a 1500w direct drive hub wound for torque on a 26" 80mm rim with cassette and place for rim brake with 190mm dropout please? Here is the bike I want to install it on A:We have 26 inch 80mm rim but don't have cassette version shaft for 190mm hub motor. ONLY shaft for freewheel sprocket. Q:Freewheel will be fine. How much to order please? A:Click below site.  Check out... check out.. choose your country, will get shipping cost & total price. Leave message: 190mm 26 inch 80mm (190mm is very important, or send an email to us after paid, need 190mm shaft,  default: 170mm ) https://www.leafbike.com/products/beach-snow-fat-bike-kit/26-inch-48v-52v-1500w-rear-hub-motor-beach-snow-fat-tire-bike-conversion-kit-1081.html Q:One more question do you have different windings available? Bike will be climbing lots of hills. A:Yes, we have different windings available.. Just tell us max speed, we can make windings as your max speed. We can make fastest: 22 x 3T just for e-motorcycle Also, can make 16 x 4T - fast 13 x 5T 11 x 6T - popular 9 x 7T 8 x 8T - stronger and not too slow 7 x 9T 6 x 11T -- slow 5 x 13T 4 x 16T  ... Q:Which winding works well for long hill climbing without overheating? A: 11 x 6T is not too slow, also strong. Don't worry motor overheating. ONLY make sure controller is not overheating.. motor will not overheating.. ** Don’t pack controller inside bag.Had better to hold it on the frame directly. It’s easy to cool controller in Summer. ** There pairs of heavy yellow, blue, green phase wires must connected well. Had better to use electrical tape winding. Q: I saw you have a 2000w hub motor model fat bike wheel how fast will that go? I think that may be my last question Sorry also does hub motor have a temp sensor or can you add one please? Hi saw this new model and had questions: https://www.leafbike.com/products/beach-snow-fat-bike-kit/26-inch-60v-2000w-rear-hub-motor-beach-snow-fat-tire-bike-conversion-kit-1231.html   Your 26 inch 2000w snow bike kits says it can come in 190mm rear dropout, is that correct? How many amps is the controller? Can you supply as a thumb throttle instead of twist throttle? Does motor come mounted inside the wheel? What windings can you offer on this 2000w version?

Motor question | Leafmotor

Q: What are the winding options of this one: https://www.leafbike.com/products/e-bike-hub-motor/48v-52v-1500w-rear-spoke-hub-motor-electric-bike-motor-spline-cassette-1110.html I need around 10rpm/v.... Do you have something similar? A: can make as below: max 680rpm max 630rpm max 580rpm max 530rpm max 480rpm max 430rpm max 380rpm ... max 80rpm Q: This rpm are at which voltage? 36v or 48v? A:48v 1500w Q: Another question. What is the axle nut size? M14 or m12? Or you can customize? Can you laze this hub motor to a wheel 20 inch rim ? How much would that extra cost? Thanks again for your help. A:M14 (flat is 10mm) fit for all kinds of standard bike. Yes, can laze it on 20 inch.   No extra cost. Just order Item: LBM20481500RN   And leave message: speed, cassette version Q:What sort of connector it has? I assume the hub motor comes already with one cable, can you provide with a second one? A:The connectors as pictures. Also will come with spare connectors for controller side. When you order, just leave message: one cable  Q: But it is soldered to the hub motor that long cable? A:No long cable.. can come with a spare cable.. Because cable factory supply about 1m lenght per cable. Q:Can you confirm me please, This wheel: https://www.leafbike.com/products/e-bike-hub-motor/20-inch-48v-52v-1500w-rear-bike-motor-wheel-1016.html With this cassette: https://www.leafbike.com/products/electric-bike-parts/6-speed-freewheel-857.html Fits in 135mm dropouts, right?

18 inch 48V 52V 1000W rear hub motor – electric bike kit | Leafmotor

I’m interested in your 18 inch hub motor electric bike conversion kit I was curious is this a right hand drive or left hand drive ? Does this come with a sprocket, and if so how Many teeth does it have ? Is this strictly pedal assist or will the motor engage while pedals are at a stand still? Do you have a 1000watt hub motor for the drum brake wheel?  Do you make 16inch electric front wheels for surrey bikes ?  The axles seems slightly different then your standard bicycle front wheel  Do you have a diagram as to how the drum brake connects to the wheel ?  I see that’s a separate drum break to purchase. How does the 1000watt wheel attach the drum break? Is there a mounting system on the wheel ? The actual drum break 1000watt wheel comes with everything needed correct ?  I would rather purchase from you if possible since our communication has been the best. Can you work with me on the price of the wheel ?  Are the drum break to the wheel universal?  May I ask why the drum brake isn’t included with the wheel? What is the return policy in case I have issues with it fitting my bike or performing ?  I am now in the process of ordering the electric wheel kit for our surrey bike. Before ordering I was curious do you have the updated lcd screen for this model ?  It would be the same wheel, the rear 18inch wheel conversion with drum break.  Is there any documents showing the way the lcd screens look? Is one better then the other ?  I can choose a colored lcd screen for the controller as well correct?  Before I make a purchase I was going to ask do you offer a thumb driven accelerator switch instead of the throttle handle like a dirt bike.  Can you send me a picture of what it looks like please.  I was asking if I could see a picture of the thumb throttle as well One more question about your thumb throttle. Do you have a thumb throttle that does not have the handle attached ? I’m trying to secure the thumb throttle to a sealed bar so I need it to open and latch over the bar to secure it instead of slipping over the end of a bar like a bike handle grip. If this makes sense?  Sounds good. If I were to want this one how would I express in my order I would Prefer this thumb throttle ?

electric bike battery can’t charge | Leafmotor

Electric bike battery can't charge, how to handle it?

Question 1:Ordered 1 set of 36V/12Ah electric bike battery with charger from one supplier last March. Now the li battery can't charge.I sent several emails to this supplier,no any respond.Angry and aspire to slove it,can you help me... Last Monday,I charged it all the whole night, but the second day, when I rode for less than 1 mile, the motor stopped.Recharged it,found the green led always on,can't turn red. I DON'T KNOW how to deal with it.Need help...Thanks. Answer 1:First you need volt-meter to measure the voltage of charger and electric bike battery. Then can find problem. Answer 2:Full charged this 36V electric bike battery reaches 42V. 1.Use voltmeter to measure the charger can get 42V.If not, charger is broken; 2.Measure battery, output voltage:33~42V,battery is also okay.If less than 33V,can't charge it. Answer 3:Generally the charger can't get trouble. The problem is always from cells. If the electric bike battery voltage is over-low.Battery's BMS will not allow charger to work. Can't charge for ever. You should remove the BMS inside ev battery and let it to charge cells directly. When voltage of the whole cells is more than standard voltage and re-connect BMS to cells. Answer 4:Ride e-bike about one year, never meet this problem. Question 2:The charger output 42V,but battery is 31.5V. Disconnected cover, found a printed circuit board. But don't know how to handle it. Answer 5:B- → battery - (connect the cathode of the last pack of cells) D- → - (connect to lock) C- → - (connect to cathode of charging point) B1 B2....B10 connects each pack of cells. Answer 6:Your charger can't work normal. You should disconnect 10-pin connector. Charge it from B- and the positive of electric bike battery, bypass BMS,directly charge cells. Note:Generally BMS can protect cells over-discharge and over-charger.But if your motor doesn't work, just led lights work(current is less than 1A),at this time,BMS can't protect cells. It will over-discharged your battery and make the voltage is less than normal so that can't charger it. We suggest if don't ride your e-bike for more than 1 week, please remove electric bike battery power connector.

need bike motor controller replacement | Leafmotor

I would like  to know if you sell  the bike motor controller only, because i damage mine by over voltage  and i need to replace it. Motor and LCD are still good. So please, i just need motor controller at the moment.   The photo I'm sending from a copy of a invoice is just to give you full details of address info, the invoice is from other kit , not this.   Can you make better price selling without LCD display ?   I will buy more parts in future from you for sure. I have new projects in my mind.   I already sent i e-mail today asking for the same model but with 60v (if this option is possible), if not possible no problem ,i will need  to have another 48v  controller, and  change to a 48v battery again..   Im sorry, I said in last e-mail i had 8 x 12v lead battery, but my mistake, because  in fact they are 10 bat, 12 amps +or- ,and 12 volts each. ( 2 box with 5 batt. each )   A lot of weight to carry, but i made already about 350 miles so far without any major problem...not bad homemade electric scooter…spend some money but i love this installation process, its a fine hobby for me. I ride it most of the time inside private property to avoid problems. I don't go fast, but uphill the controller burn…stupid mistake of mine..i push the controller limits.. many amps and some extra volts burn controller, almost in the end of the project..   I'm your costumer for some time and i prefer your controllers because they  are good and have regen break, very useful for me because i live in high place in Portugal, full of up and downhills.  I also prefer the original parts from you because i know they will fit perfect on the Lcd display that i already have   If yes , how can i pay you  excepting credit card ? I can make bank transfer if you like, or another safe method for both.  If i buy only controller i will pay less tax here also, less money in invoice is better for me because last time i payd a lot, also because motors are heavy , but only controller will be good, its lightweight for the post tax. If possible,  don't mention watt power in invoice please, The hub motor has 1000/1500 watt power.. i cant remember exactly, because sometimes display already  showed 1200, 1300 watt instant motor power  . maybe 1500w motor…not sure..

electric bike motor parts | Leafmotor

Q: we`re building a 4 WD vehicle so we need only the following: 1.1 pcs of 16" 36V 500W or 36V 750W rear hub motor(casted hub+16"× 2 1/4" tyre) 2.1 pcs of 36V 500W or 36V 750W brushless controller without the LCD 6.1 pcs of adapter disk tool that can be mounted on motor and used to install disk 7.1 pcs of φ140mm disk+adapter - what is it?,does it the disk braker? motor speed - minimum value (for maximum speed) 20km/h (we don't care if it will be more) do you support in any we a super-controller to support all 4 motors/controllers? Answer 1: That's disk+clipper. Answer 2: There are two types of disk for e-bike.One is dia.=φ140mm,the other is φ160mm. Generally 140 mm disk is fit for rear wheel and 160mm is fit for front wheel. Answer 3: 36V 250W brushless geared motor is popular in Europe, but in North America, people like 36V 750W hub motor more.More and more people order and enjoy these two types of DC hub motors,we called them classic electric bike motors. Compare to use a chain drive system, these days convert bicycle with a new motorized wheel is much easier.Remove your front or rear wheel, use this hub motor wheel to replace, done it in 5 minutes. 140mm disk can installed on rear motor and 160mm for front motor. Now all of our rear motors and hbm-011 front electric bike motor can mounted on disk, but hbm-front gearless motor and hbl-front motor can't installed disk. The thickness of these 140mm and 160mm is 2mm. See more pictures: Picture 1:The thickness of disk

Look for an Electric motorcycle motor kit | Leafmotor

I just bought a gas moped (49cc) and plan to convert it to electric with your electric motorcycle kit. It looks like I'll need at least 1500W rear hub motor, although I'm willing to go higher if needed (2000W?). Someone on a forum indicated that you do custom windings and I should reach out to you, but I'm not an engineer and can only describe how I'll use the moped - I can't offer what specs are best, or if this is within what you can offer. I would prefer a solid wheel (no spokes) but on your site those only go to 1000W? The original moped rear wheel is 17" with a M62 3-17 tire. I haven't removed the tire to get the exact fork distance, but I think it is around 175mm I don't need a high top speed, 20 mph maximum and mostly I will be in the 0-10 mph range. However, it will be constantly going up and down hills, including several hundred feet of about 15 degree incline. So, I need good low-speed torque. I weigh about 200 lbs, and the moped (and the tools I'll be carrying) adds another 100-150 lbs. This will never be used on public roadways, only on my farm. I live in the USA. I haven't started looking at controllers or batteries yet.  My first step is to identify the best hub motor option, then I can worry about the rest.  I'd prefer a 17 inch casted electric motorcycle hub motor if I can get one with enough power / torque at low speed.

Question on wiring- 1500w rear hub motor kit | Leafmotor

I have installed my hub motor kit on my bike and think IT IS GREAT!!!! I have a question about a wire from the “cruise control-regenerative brake” controller on the handle bar. The connection to the control unit had 4 wires one of which......the blue wire...was cut. I assumed that it needed to be fixed the two blue wires together. I bought two hub motor kits and we have just finished installing the kit on my friends bike and this blue wire is also not connected.....so I am wondering if it is supposed to be disconnected......should I solder this blue wire of cut the blue wire on my bike ..... Again....I think your hub motor kits are great! I have referred my friends to your site and I hope you receive some orders from them. How to use three button switch? 1.We cut off that blue or yellow wire. It's for reverse/backward.This function is very dangerous for e-bike. If for e-tricycle,hope this reverse function, just re-connect this yellow wire. (We cut off yellow wire.. so no reverse/backwards function for e-bike. If install motor on tricycle, also need this reverse function, please re-connect this yellow wire. Reverse works)   This yellow or black button be left / middle, motor works forward. Be right side, motor works backwards / reverse... (Cut off blue wire,No reverse function) How to set max speed? If you feel motor is too fast, please set it to be low speed. * Press “sw/middle button” from LCD more than 2 seconds, then LCD will display. * Press “up & down button” together more than 2 seconds until 72 is flashing ( 72 is kmh, if you hope works 20mph / 32kmh, press “down” to be 32) * Press “sw/middle” button one time to save, then 20 is flashing.. (20 is wheel size. Don’t set) * Press “sw/middle” button one time to save, then kmh or mph is flashing.. * Press “sw/middle” button one time to save, then press “sw/middle” button more than 2 seconds until be back.   Turn throttle, motor will work max speed as your setting.   --------------- There is a “ 5 or 4 or 3 or 2 or 1 or 0” on the Left side of LCD. * Be “0” – throttle & pedal assist NOT work. * Be “1” – throttle works (If install pedal assist, pedal about 3 circles, then can drive motor to work) * Be “2” – throttle works (If install pedal assist, pedal about 2.5 circles, then can drive motor to work) * Be “3” – throttle works (If install pedal assist, pedal about 2 circles, then can drive motor to work) * Be “4” – throttle works (If install pedal assist, pedal about 1.5 circles, then can drive motor to work) * Be “5” – throttle works (If install pedal assist, pedal about 1 circles, then can drive motor to work)   If NOT install that pedal assist,ONLY use throttle to drive motor. But Should be 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5.(Be 0,turn off throttle)   -------------------------------- How to use three button switch? 1.We cut off that yellow wire. It's for reverse/backward.This function is very dangerous for e-bike. 1500w hub motor rpm | Leafmotor

I have done a little more testing with the 1500w hub motor. I think that I am happy with the current winding. I am giving the motor 65A battery, 180 amps phase.. and it is like a rocket now. The efficiency is very good.. the most efficient hub motor I have tested.. good work! But I want to be sure about the winding for my post about your 48V 1500W bike motor, because your webpage shows lots of different RPM for the same motor ( this is confusing ).. If someone orders the hub motor from your website.. they will receive a 16*4 turn motor, which is 650rpm @ 49v = 13.26 kV And the 13*5 turn motor would do 550rpm @ 49v = 11.2 kV Is this correct...? P.S. If you are interested in having a hub motor re-seller.. I told someone in the USA about your hub motors and told him about my tests. I got the hub motor and have tested it. It's a great hub motor, but the winding is too fast for a 26 inch,650B,700C,28 inch,29 inch hub motor wheel. It's better for 14 inch,16 inch,18 inch,20 inch,24 inch bike motor wheel. The no load speed on the hub motor I received = 640rpm on 49v. I notice on your web page that you sell stator windings.. I was wondering how many turns this hub motor has. Is it possible that you could sell me a stator winding with one more turn that could do 500-550rpm on 49v? 16 * 4T 650RPM 13 * 5T 550RPM 11 * 6T 450RPM 9 * 7T 350RPM 8 * 8T 250RPM 7 * 9T 150RPM …………

What’s the difference between 36V 500W,36V 750W and 48V 1000W hub motors | Leafmotor

Q:What's the difference between 36V 500W,36V 750W and 48V 1000W hub motors A:36V 500W,36V 750W and 48V 1000W hub motors are all used for electric bikes, also called electric bike motors. They have the same figuration. These three motors are all made of the same hub, covers, axis, bearings, hall sensor. So they look the same, but they have different magnet and rotor-winding. 36V 750W and 48V 1000W are the same hub motors, just work at different voltage, has different watts. But for 36V 500W × 36V 750W(48V 1000W) The difference between them is that gauge of the coil wires, turns number of the coils and height of magnet. The height of 36V 500W hub motor's magenet is 24mm,but 750W hub motor reach 30mm.Picture enclosed. In market,36V 500W is easy to find it,but difficult to find real 36V 750W hub motors. In China,36V 500W(48V 600W) motors are very popular and used for electric bikes, these motors seem to ours, but No.The height of our magnet is 6mm more than as usual, reach 750w or 1000w.North America like them, more like high speed motors,we can customize motor speed as customers' actual need. Now 26" 36V 750W bike wheel reaches 20m/h and the speed of 48V 1000W is 27m/h.It's standard speed.

Bldc stepper motor for electric bike | Leafmotor

In the subsection of section Classification of electric bikes we looked at options for motors used in electric bicycles, their positive and negative sides. Let's try to analyze and compare the characteristics of electric motors (bldc hub motor and bldc stepper motor)from one well-known manufacturers: Leaf Motor (China). Leaf Motor produces sets with a motor-wheels, and the other kits that use a chain drive. The analysis will be based on data from well-known owners of electric bikes site EValbum, the characteristics of the manufacturer, and other sources on the Internet. Therefore all figures are approximate, and the findings are an expression of opinion ePowerBikes.ru As stated by bldc hub motor, voltage motor-wheel independent maximum speed:24V - 25 km / h, 36V - 32 km / h, 48 V - 50 km / h. These data are confirmed by practical measurements elektrovelosipedistov. The maximum velocity at the start line set bldc stepper with 42 km / h and end with 120 km / h. Those cyclists who speed up to 30 miles is enough, can choose a motor-wheel 24V,36V,or 48V. For practical information, electric bikes with a motor-wheel 36V 500W and lithium-phosphate battery 10Ach a maximum speed of 32 km / h and can cover a distance of 50 km. For those who want to 'fly' at speeds above 50 km / h, suitable set of Leafmotor 601kit-1 48V 1000W e bike kit. Compare sets with the same maximum speed - 45 km / h - a new set 601kit-1 48V 1000W bldc hub motor and bldc stepper 48V 500W. Based on the characteristics of graphs,we choose the rate at which engines operate most efficiently, it is 40 km / h for both. For the same power consumption in this mode - 420-440 watts, at the time of bldc stepper motor is a little more, but this is neglected. It turns out that energy costs are the same at a speed of 40 km / h. We obtain a theoretical figure 10.5 Wh / km, although in practice the number is likely to be greater. Now suppose that we face a steep hill. The maximum torque developed HBL hub motor – 30 Nm, bldc stepper motor - 38 Nm. For the calculation we use a calculator elektrovelosipedista. Let Curb weight of a bicycle with the stepper motor - 100 kg, the rise of 7% of 3.5 km. To overcome this recovery time is needed more than 26 Nm on the wheel 26. " Power expended by the motor-wheels 601kit-1 e bike kit is more than 1060 W at a speed of 35 km / h. Total energy costs - 106 Wh. What makes it with bldc stepper-kit? He switched to the lowest gear, increasing time and decreasing the rate of 2.4 times (for cassettes with a maximum star 34t). At 2600 revs / min, torque on the shaft of the gearbox - 11 lb lost by power - 390 watts, speed - 14.5 km / h. Cost of energy to overcome lift - 94 Wh. Switching gears allow the rider to use the bldc stepper with the maximum efficiency of ~ 83% versus 73% for motor-wheels 601kit-1. As you know, the availability of transmission system for a bicycle greatly expands the range of effective use of a set of bldc stepper motor. These are one of the best available right now,s o if your´re looking for one, check it out. 9-14 cassette on the wheel 26 "will change the torque of 6 to 60 Nm and a speed in the range of 11.5-45 km / h (about 2100-2900 revs / min) at an efficiency of above 80% (included efficiency gearbox and chain drive). Efficiency of the motor-wheels 601kit-1 has a maximum value of 78% of torque 10-16 Nm. It is logical that upon arrival at the ideal surface Bonneville Salt Lake in Utah, at 40 km / h, both test sets will spend the same amount of energy. But as soon as the trial will move to an area with hilly terrain, a set of bldc stepper will be more economical than 601kit-1, and of course will be able to overcome the ups who his opponent will not under force. We note again that the higher efficiency is achieved when using leafmotor’s bldc stepper motor in the range of maximum efficiency, extended thanks to gear bike.

replace hall sensor for 750w hub motor | Leafmotor

The hall sensor is a transducer that varies its output voltage in response to a magnetic field. Hall sensors are used for proximity switching, positioning, speed detection, and current sensing applications. Three phase bike motor has three hall sensors inside that are used for electric bike widely. 36V 250W brushless geared motor is popular in Europe, but in North America, people like 36V 750W hub motor more. More and more people order and enjoy these two types of DC hub motors that are called classic electric bike motors. Now they have received by most of customers because of good quality. But when ride this hub motor bike and climb hill for a long time. Sometimes over current or over head will break motor controller's MOSFET or hall sensor. Hall sensor is broken. The hub motor can't work. Unless your controller can drive sensor-less motor. Buy a new motor, cost more. Replace hall sensor, cost less. Below we first instruct one type of 750w electric bike motor . If hall sensor is broken, power on battery, you will find battery gauge works, horn works, lights work, everything is good, except when you turn your throttle, the hub motor wheel can't run. Step 1: Retest this hub motor and make sure it does be broken. Do you have voltmeter? Still connect all wires and power on. First measure 6-pin hall sensor plug, the voltage as below: 1.The voltage of red and black is about 4.5V; 2.The voltage of yellow and black is about 4.5V or 0V;(use hand to turn hub motor, the voltage will change from 0V-4.5V) 3.The voltage of green and black is about 4.5V or 0V;(use hand to turn hub motor, the voltage will change from 0V-4.5V) 4.The voltage of blue and black is about 0V or 4.5(use hand to turn hub motor, the voltage will change from 4.5V-0V) If you can get above data it's no problem with bike conversion kit system. If the voltage of Item 2 (yellow and black wires)can't change from 0V-4.5V,Please replace this hall has a yellow wire connect. You should prepare some tools and material: 1.Hexagon wrench (Necessary) 2.Hammer (Necessary) 3.Screwdriver 4.electric iron 5.A-B glue 6.insulated paper, insulated wire 7.scissors 8.New hall sensor Step 2: Take off nuts and gasket on axis and use hexagon wrench to loose 16 screws. Step 3: Make the electric bike motor stand and cable is bent inside. Left hand hold the hub motor and use hammer to knock the axis. Step 4: After some knock, the cover will take off hub. Step 5: Use the same way to knock the other axis, the other cover will also take off hub. Step 6: When both side covers are off hub, next we should take out the rotor-winding. Make the axis stands on the ground, both hands press hub motor, the rotor-winding will out of hub. Step 7: There are three hall sensor in three grooves around the rotor. Use scissors to remove insulated wire and insulated paper. You will find 9-pin(three hall sensor)connect to PCB on rotor-winding. Each hall has three pin: 1:+ , 2:- ; 3:signal For example: Hall A: 1:+ , 2:- ; 3:Yellow wire Hall B: 1:+ , 2:- ; 3:Blue wire Hall C: 1:+ , 2:- ; 3:Green wire Step 8: Just now had known yellow wire hall sensor was broken. Please use electric iron to remove Hall A and use A-B glue to fix new hall sensor. Use insulated paper, insulated wire to fix PCB. Then re-build this hub motor. Step 9: Test as step 1.If can get the data from each hall sensor. Congratulate. Power on battery, the hub motor wheel works.
